2002-02-25 - 7:30 a.m. I awoke charred and crusty, and found myself somewhere near her ankles. I ascertained that North would only lead to trouble. But there was nothing at her feet left for me to discover. If I could only just get to her knees. Then I thought I might be able to run a rope to her elbow, and avoid some of the most trecherous terrain known to man. But alas! The peak of her knees was a difficult climb and fruitless, for her elbows were not visible even with the aid of my (t)rusty monocle. I waited it out through syruppy darkness, hoping that her elbow was only momentarily displaced due to reasons I would never understand. Hours after hour of waiting and nothing changed. I was still stranded atop the peak of her majestic knee, with still no elbow to speak of. My only viable plan was to climb through the night, and hope that I had reached Her Navel by first light. My mule will not be happy, but I must make it there, if not for nothing else than to have a chance. The good ones are always a little crazy. Don't be a mouse, be a lion
